This image is part of the series that I did for the City of Federal Way exhibit. The original idea was to photograph my model Esbea and Zee in this house nearby my house that was falling apart. Yes, it would have been dangerous but I was going to shoot it really quick while the sun was rising in the morning. When we got there, the roof of the house had collapse. BOOM! into the house itself. Well, there goes that idea. So I had to think of an alternative. I remembered there was a cemetery that was private about 6 miles away, so we drove there. We have lost the golden hour but still early morning sun so we shot some series and ate at Subway afterwards.
We developed this story about a young girl being murdered because we were shooting at the famous Green River Trail where Gary Ridgway dumped some of the bodies of the women he murdered. The word murder is a double entendre. If you notice there are crows everywhere in the photos. A group of crows is called a Murder and we were telling a murder story. The girl was murdered and she wanted to tell someone her story. She was a spirit so she could not communicate to anyone until this young gifted, but troubled teen came along. He was into graffiti and while he was tagging a tunnel area by the green river trail, the spirit visited him and told him her story. He then visited her grave and prayed for her soul to rest. The last image is bright and the crows were flying away which signifies that the young troubled girl has finally told her story and rested.
Here is the rest of it:
The ghost contacts a troubled teen, graffiti artist under the tunnel and conveys her message about her death.
A ghost from the past is troubled because of how she died and wants her story to be heard.
Sometimes during a storm, when the sea gets rough, all you can really do is hang on because you’re really not alone.
